My OT Spot is Going on Tour and We’d Love to Meet Up!

Big news from the My OT Spot team! My husband Brad (AKA the My OT Spot tech whiz/guru) and I just left our home in Atlanta for our unofficial My OT Spot tour!

We’re traveling across the U.S. in a teardrop RV… and we want to meet you!

Why are we doing this?

It’s been our dream for the past 4 years to be able to go full time on the website and grow it while exploring all our beautiful country has to offer. We were so inspired by our friends Jessica and Jorge, a graphic designer couple adventuring and working full time in their VW Vanagon. They showed us that it’s actually possible to travel for extended periods while also getting work done along the way.

It’s been quite a journey for us to get to this point and we still can’t believe this dream is finally becoming a reality.

What does this have to do with occupational therapy?

As we’ve thought more about taking this trip, we realized it would also be the perfect opportunity to meet occupational therapists, students, and members of the My OT Spot community wherever we might be!

There are so many differences in the field of occupational therapy from state to state – best practices, job market, trends, requirements, etc. – and we really want to learn about these things directly from OTs and COTAs and share our findings with you all.

We’d love to feature you on the blog if we get the chance to meet you and ask you some questions. We’re so excited to hopefully get to meet you, talk with you, and learn about what being an OT is like in your state.

Our schedule is tentative, but if you live in one of these states or you know an occupational therapy practitioner that does, leave a comment or email me directly at sarah@myotspot.com and we’ll do our best to set something up.

If we’re not coming to your state this Fall, we are planning on visiting more states next Spring and Summer. In the meantime, we’d still love to hear from you and we can always meet up virtually!

⦁ Missouri: St. Louis, Columbia, Kansas City

Then we’re headed back to Atlanta to my hospital position for a few months of holiday work.

I hope you’re able to meet us during this adventure, but if not, I’d love to talk with you at AOTA Conference 2019!

We’ll also be adding more cities next Spring for My OT Spot Tour #2 when the weather gets warm again. We will be sure to send an update on the next regions to complete this OT Across the US series. Hope to see you soon!
